I took Wednesday off and also today off, so I could finish the book. And I did. At 4:58 pm today. I have the last chapter to edit this weekend, but it will be emailed Monday to my editor.
And it's Halloween on Sunday. I've been reading all these posts on constumes. I got to thinking of my favorite costumes and it was the year my husband and I dressed in the 70's. I wore a long wig and go go boots and a mini dress. My husband wore an afro wig, bell bottoms and a paisly shirt. It was a lot of fun!
I'd post pictures, but I'm on my laptop and they're not on this computer.
I love Halloween and have a ton of costumes. This year, we're going over to my daughter's house to give out candy - except she thinks she has the flu and if that's the case, we'll be handing out candy at home

I'm not ignoring you, I promise. The CEO's Secret Baby is due in one week and this book is giving me fits! I'll be back full strength once I turn this story in, I promise.
Thanks for being patient!
In the meantime, did you know Romantic Times Magazine gave Profile of Seduction 4.5 stars? It's still on the shelves, so run out and get it while you still can!

Sunday 10-17-10
Just back from spending a lovely fall weekend at the lake place, writing. I didn't got out in the boat, nor did I fish (two of my favorite things to do while there). What I did, since I've got a book due November 1st, was write. 3000 words, a lot for me.
Very happy with the progress. Reading another author's blog brought it home to me - I'm not alone.
Check it out.

Tuesday- October 12, 2010 - Talking about the booksigning.
This past Saturday, I was invited to sign copies of my October book PROFILE FOR SEDUCTION at a Borders Books in Arlington. Three other authors were signing as well. I knew one of them, Shayla Black, but wasn't familiar with the other two - Jaci Burton and Maya Banks. Because the booksigning was so busy, I didn't really get to visit with them much as they were seated at a table behind me.
The signing was a whole lot of fun and the three hours went by fast. While I didn't keep track, I know I (and the other authors) sold a LOT of books.
Thanks to everyone who attended and special thanks to Mistie of Borders for the well organized event (and the awesome gift bag she gave each of us authors!)

Crazy, Writing Fool - Thursday, October 7th
My next Silhouette Romantic Suspense is due November 1st. Due to many problems with the first draft of 94 pages, I had to start over late last month. Luckily, the story all came together (or is coming together), since I'm having to write like the wind to finish in time.
This kind of writing is interesting to me. Because I have no choice but to plant my behind in the chair and write, everything is intensified. But I know where I'm going (yay for that!) and what the hero and heroine have to learn, and who the bad guys are. What I DON'T know yet is how they're going to catch them and what to do with one other major character. But it will come. I have faith and experience. After twenty-odd books (23? 26? 29?), I do know this much about myself and my writing.
Everything else has been put on hold. Oh, I have a few obligations, like a couple of booksignings this month for my current book PROFILE FOR SEDUCTION. If you're in the area, I'll be signing 1-4 at the Borders in Arlington Highlands on October 9th, along with several other excellent authors. Hope to see you there.
Back to writing for me! I'm a regular writing fool!

Monday rolls around again. October 4, 2010
I spent the weekend at the lake. One of the things I refuse to do at the lake is wear a watch. At home, with the daily grind, I’m a virtual slave to the clock. Every single morning, from the time I get up (5 am) until the time I shut off the evening news and go to bed, is regulated.
Not so at the lake.
Here, if I want to sit outside and drink coffee for hours, there’s no reason why I can’t. I can play with the dogs, fish, go out in the boat, watch the sun set, keep my camera out and continue to try to capture the beauty of the huge cranes as they fly over the lake.
Here, I relax. Here, I’m happy.
Even this weekend, with a book deadline in one month and many pages to write, I can sit outside with my Alphasmart or a pad of paper, and write. (Yes, I’m aware that writing this blog is taking time from writing the book, but I felt moved to share this!)
The dogs love it here too. Especially this time of the year when the temperature is reasonable and we can open the windows on the camper and all hang out outside. Our small yard is fenced and they love to roam and explore and play.
I got some new wind chimes. They’re bamboo and they make the most mellow, pleasant sound in the breeze.
My husband loves to putter and fish. I love to fish too, and on weekends when I don’t have to write, write, write, I love to read. I always bring my Kindle, just in case I get extra time.
But right now (write now!) the story is calling me and I’d better get back to it.
