Done!

So today I turned in The Secret Colton Baby.  I loved writing this story and had so much fun doing so.

On March 10th, I also turned in a very late Harlequin Romantic Suspense with the working title of All or Nothing.  For a period of time, I worked on two books at once.  That was interesting and not as stressful as I imagined it would be.

Out of curiosity,  I added up how many words I wrote.  For me, I get roughly 200 words per page.

In March, I wrote a grand total of 35,393 words.  Or roughly 177 pages.

In February, I wrote a total of 42,106 words, which equals around 210 pages

And in January, I wrote 34,756 words, or about 174 pages

In the first quarter of 2014, I wrote 561 pages!

That is not too shabby, if I do say so myself.

Now my next Nocturne is due May 1st.  It's going to be a tiny bit late, but I'm going to write as quickly as I can.  I love the story, so it should be fun.

And tomorrow.... my Nocturne The Wolf Siren comes out!!

Monday Confusion

The first few days - ok, maybe WEEKS - after Daylight Savings Time starts, I wander around in a sort of confused fog.  Time goes by way too quickly, and I get hungry at the wrong times and want to sleep at the wrong times.  Sigh.

However, I am here.  Today my father turns 83.  I'll be taking him out for a steak dinner later.

Saturday, we finally drove to North Park in North Dallas.  Steph wanted a David Yurman ring for her birthday.  Here it is, sorry for the blurry picture.  I tend to use my cell phone camera for everything, when I have a very expensive and excellent Nikon D3100 and several lenses.  I'd get much better pics if I used that, but I rarely carry it around.

Friday night, Lonnie and I went out for Mexican Food.  We mostly go to Cristina's Fine Mexican Kitchen.  I always get my margarita.  And I got an enchilada platter this time instead of my usual street tacos.

Driving home, the sunset was beautiful!

And then on Sunday, I noticed this little guy in my backyard.  Proof that Spring is on the way.

It also dawned on me that today is ONE WEEK from Saint Patrick's Day!!!  We always go to our local Beef O'Brady's and eat corned beef and cabbage.  Though this year, I'm thinking of just cooking my own.
We'll see.  I do love getting out and wearing green.

Also, my book is due is 21 days.  I have 25,000 words left to write (roughly 125 pages), so I should be fine.

Fat Tuesday

Today being Fat Tuesday, when Legacy Boxer Rescue (www.savetheboxers.com) asked for pictures of foster dogs to put on their Facebook wall, I rushed in my spare bedroom, pulled my Mardi Gras beads out, and dressed Katniss up.  It took several shots (and I used my IPhone instead of my awesome Nikon camera), but I finally got one they could use.  The one of her lifting her paw, the larger one.

So here are some of the shots from today.

March Ice Day 2

This morning we woke up to 14 degree temps.  Ridiculously cold for Texas in March.

Overnight, all the ice we got yesterday had hardened.  Schools were cancelled everywhere.  And the rescheduling of Stephanie's birthday was also cancelled.

My backyard.    That is not snow.  It is solid ice.

Really strange for March, but good writing weather.

The Ice of March

Today was my daughter's birthday.  We had plans to meet for breakfast, then go shopping in Dallas at North Park Mall, then had a mani-pedi appt at 3:00 and were going to dinner after that.

Woke up to 31 degrees and freezing rain.  Yesterday was 84 and sunny.  We managed to meet at the local IHOP for breakfast, and then came back to the house.  The freezing rain turned to sleet, to snow, back to sleet.  She went home (about 11 miles away.)  Her birthday has been postponed.

Meanwhile, the temp keeps dropping.  This is crazy for March.  Since she was born 34 years ago today, I do no ever remember having an ice storm on her birthday.  It's rained, sure.   It's usually windy and a bit chilly.

Here's some photos.  Note the flowering Bradford Pear tree in the first one - poor tree thought Spring had arrived.
